Come on in and make yourself at home as you experience your own mountain retreat in the heart of the “Jewel of the Blue Ridge”.  As you relax on your own deck space, your eyes will take you all the way to Tennessee over multiple ridge lines. The floating clouds and mist by day are enchanting, and the dark night sky is rich in starlight. You might even catch the fireflies dancing below the deck.

Plenty of relaxation here with opportunities to catch up on conversation, a favorite book, a game or two, or just some much-needed downtime to journal or collect your thoughts.  The fast pace world is left behind as you take in the magic of RiverDance.

If outdoor adventure is part of the plan there is plenty to choose from.  A meander down the Laurel River Trail, or take the challenge of the renowned Appalachian Trail. Try fishing on a secluded Laurel River stream right here in Bear River.  Guests have been known to enjoy their catch at the end of the day right in their own complete kitchen. Don’t forget to take advantage of the healing mineral water with a soak in the tubs at the renowned spa in Hot Springs. Restaurants, live music, and a brewery are all part of this trail town just eight minutes from your suite. Want more to explore?  All that Asheville has to offer is just forty-five minutes away.

Both SkyView and RiverHaven offer all the comforts of home.  All you have to bring is food or drink, and the rest is all part of your suite.  SkyView is 600 square feet and stands alone. It has a comfy king bedroom, vaulted great room, full kitchen, lots of windows to bring in the richness of nature outside, Buck stove to add that special touch, bathroom with shower, full deck that includes a propane fire pit.  RiverHaven has a little different flare and sits on the lower level of our two-story home.  Within your view sight is one extraordinary view, a glance at the river below, both a deck and patio complete with a porch swing, a propane fire pit, a queen bedroom full of windows, plus kitchen, bath with shower, and a gathering area.  All are sure to please.  Both suites do have a full futon for extra sleeping space.

By the end of your stay, you may join others in calling RiverDance “your place in the mountains”.

We opened up the original RiverDance, a 4000 sq foot home on three levels as a bed and breakfast in 2010. By the time we sold it in 2021 we had hosted over 3,000 groups and we were rated the best bed and breakfast in Madison County NC.

“Just stayed with Dave and Callie up at River Dance airbnb and OMG.  My wife and I talked about our stay all the way home (3 1/2 hours) and finally decided upon 3 words to describe our getaway.

1. Quaint – We’ve stayed at both of their airbnb rentals – River Haven and Sky View.  Both rental properties were clean, and beautiful, and embraced what you would expect to find in the mountains of NC.  The view from the bed in Sky View is absolutely Amazing ! ! !
2. Rejuvenating – When you enter the Bear River Lodge property in many ways the stress and craziness of the world get put on hold. Whether you’re sitting on the deck at River Haven drinking morning coffee, hanging in a hammock, or listening to the sounds of Big Laurel River it’s easy to turn off the hustle and bustle of everyday life. 
3. Heavenly – I think this word is the most fitting to describe our stay. The mountains, Appalachian trial, Max Patch, Big Pillow brewery, downtown Marshall, and Hot Springs Resort (tub 15) all of which made our stay phenomenal.

River Dance will always be our home away from home in the mountains of NC.  We can’t wait to come back again-  in October.”

The best review we have gotten, one that was echoed by many, was “I think anywhere else we stay from now on will always be compared to RiverDance.
