Hot Springs, NC is designated N.C. Mountain Heritage Trout Water- The Spring Creek is stocked abundantly six times a year with Brown, Brook, and Rainbow Trout.Fresh water fish, such as bass and trout are plentiful in the waters of scenic Madison County . The Laurel River, and the Big Laurel Stream are located within the National Forest Service boundaries. Regulations allow for bait fisherman, those who enjoy spin casting or graceful fly fishing. The Big Laurel River that runs just outside our gates, also meanders through Bear River Lodge, and is open for fishing all year around. Weather you are on our ridge, or by the impressive lodge, the sound of the rushing river echoes through out.You will need a fishing license, and that can be picked up at C&H Fishing or Bugs and Brew. There are also other fishing options along the French Broad River, Shelton Laurel, Spring Creek, and Hickory Fork Creek that are within striking distance from RiverDance. Keep an eye out for Vaste Riviere Provisions in Hot Springs which is also home to Bugs and Brew. Head to the back of the store where you will find Keith Calloway’s fly fishing shop offering guided fishing, along with his hand crafted fly bamboo rods.
